What we save

Snugquake saves your level, pillows, rescued Snugs, scores, sound setting and story progress in this browser. A cookie and browser storage remember your guest ID, so refreshing or closing a tab does not normally lose your place. Clearing site data or using a private window can remove that connection.

We also keep a backup on our server. If you create an account, your email, chosen name, password hash and game progress let you continue on another device. Your chosen name and best scores appear on the public scoreboard. Your email does not.

Understanding visits

We count visits, introductions, level attempts, completions, share-link actions and time spent actively using the game. Play time excludes paused or hidden tabs and stops after a minute without input. We also record installation suggestions, install requests, browser-reported installs and launches from the installed app. These records link to your guest ID and, after sign-in, your account. No account ID or sign-in token is placed in the install link. We record the referral or campaign link, approximate country, browser, device type, language and screen size. Country is estimated locally from the connection IP address. We do not store the raw IP address in game analytics or send it to a geolocation service. Server access logs may separately contain connection addresses.

These statistics help us find difficult levels and understand how people discover the game. Opening a social share window is counted as an action, not proof that a post was published. There are no third-party advertising trackers in this package.

Cookies and choices

Guest identity lasts up to one year. Account sign-in lasts up to 30 days. Browser progress remains until you remove it. You can play without registering, turn off sound in the game menu, and clear Snugquake site data using your browser settings. Signing out ends account access on this browser; local game progress can remain.

The site owner can remove a guest record or account, including saved progress, using the private administration tools. Registered players should quote their email; guests can find their visitor ID in their browser’s Snugquake storage. Records are retained until removed by the owner; the owner can set an analytics retention period using the included maintenance command.
